[TekkoX2]/Coverage Recap Mega Post

It's been a bit crazy around here. Everything from attending and covering the living day lights out of Tekko X-2 over the 4th-7th but then all the articles throughout the week as well. That said, in case you've missed anything or are just curious as to what happened, here's you're one stop guide to everything Tekko X-2 related. From the cosplay to the concerts to the review of the event itself, we've got it all right here for ya in one handy post. We managed to brave the insanity that was the construction all around Pittsburgh and the chaos of a Penguins game on Friday to bring you...all of this!

A special thank you to our very own Curious Kitty (Carrie of InsanitylurksInside), +Alexandra Ferrari, +Kyle Dunn and +Madeline Eckhart for helping out over the weekend.

Also, there is a bit more coming from our interviews with Tony Oliver, Chris Cason, Initial P and Chii Sakurabi as well as the staff of Team Tekko, but I'm still working on those. I'm hopeful that they'll be ready to go here in the next few days!

Review: Quality Over Quantity and it Shows

Throughout this whole past weekend I kept getting the same message from the heads of staff at Tekkoshocon, that quality and substance outweighs the quantity and does it ever show. This isn't just some "corporate line", these folks really truly believe and act on that mantra. It works and I hope that they never change. Read more...

And now for the cosplay...one of the main reasons many of us go to cons for and probably the most visible sign that you've wound up at a convention of some type as well. Can't forget that, now can we?

Cosplay Part 1

There was a ton of great cosplay and I think all us covering the event got some great pictures (and probably some utter rubbish ones too), but here's a glimpse at the first round of stuff that we've had time to sort through. There's a lot more coming but here's a few of the con that were snagged via the what Chris Cason refers to as "The Oracle" (aka my phone). Read more...

Cosplay Part 2

We took tons of pictures...not so many on the roof weirdly enough, but lots of them everywhere else throughout the DLCC. That said, here's the second batch of cosplay pictures from this past weekend's TekkoX2 in Pittsburgh! Many thanks to +Alexandra Ferrari and CK for snagging these while the rest of us were running around like crazy. Read more...

Cosplay Part 3

Well, this is the final part of the cosplay coverage for us from Tekko X-2. So many sights to see, so little time. It's sad, I know, but having so many pictures to go though and just over 100 of those making it into the posts this week? (Nearly 160 if you count the masquerade as well.) Not bad, not bad at all. I don't think anyone is complaining about that. If you are...there's no hope for you at all. Read more...

Maquerade - Cosplay at a Higher Level

In addition to everything that went on during the day on Saturday (Chii, CANTOY, Dazzle Vision, Initial P and a slew of interviews) there was also the cosplay masquerade which was emceed by the one and only Uncle Yo.

The nearly two hour long event had things broken up in what you could say was the traditional way with walk-ons, skits and craftsmanship awards, pretty much in that order. Read more...

Dazzle Vision Crushes Pittsburgh

Music is an extremely important part of things at Tekko, so much so that their tag line for the convention is a "Japanese Pop Culture Convention with a Music Addiction". It should be to no surprise that they nailed it once again with their concerts this past weekend. Read More...
