[Japan]/Biohazard: The Real Infects Universal Japan!

Well, I suppose this is fitting, it's the middle of summer and we've started our shift into the dark world that is Halloween and everything around it. So, what does Universal Studios Japan go and do? They open up their newest Resident Evil attraction, Biohazard: The Real.

We covered the announcement of this live action attraction a few months ago and true to it's word, they've definitely made it live up to the hype from what I can tell via the pictures and video. One of the more interesting things is that the shooting system that they're using is based on the same that is used by police and military in Japan as well, so Universal Tokyo definitely didn't skimp on the details here.

Once inside, there are two separate stages that guests can go through. The first actually has two distinct routes that can be taken. One of them going through the Raccoon City Police Department and the other is through the Raccoon City Hospital. Make it successfully through either of those areas and you're onto the second stage, the Umbrella Research Center.

Guests are then barraged with a combination of movie level special effects, sounds and lighting the attraction promises to make the atmosphere as genuine as possible. All of the zombies and other creatures are being designed to look as real as possible and include a 2m (6ft) tall Tyrant.

All in all, it's reported that it only takes about 5-10minutes to get through the entire attraction and while that may seem short, remember, most roller coasters and other rides are under 5minutes in length and people wait hours for those too. Not to mention, you can't shoot the living crap out of the undead on them either (well okay, most of them).

Anyway, let's get on the pictures and video of Universal's newest bit of nightmare fuel!

And now for the second short spot about the attraction. I'm not sure if the above and this one are meant for TV or in the park itself, but either way, they're both pretty damn cool.

And now for the pictures of the attraction and shots of the show that USJ put on for the grand opening of the event earlier today!
