[HHN]/Insidious Comes to Life at Universal Hollywood

Today, John Murdy and the creative team behind Halloween Horror Nights at Universal Studios Hollywood revealed their next maze based on Insidious during their panel at the Scare Los Angeles convention. Yep, that's right, the terrifying tale of The Lambert Family is coming to life! Can't say that I'm overly surprised on this one, we had some pretty good information before that this was coming.

Again, there's quite a bit they can do with this house and I'm sure that fans of the series will be thrilled at it's addition. Insidious joins the already stocked stable of The Walking Dead, Black Sabbath and Evil Dead mazes that have been announced already.

This is definitely an interesting (not to mention popular) move and with the sequel coming out in September, the timing couldn't be more perfect to bring this one to life. I actually can't think of another time that's happened in HHN history to be honest.

UPDATE: It's been made known by John Murdy, via a live Twitter Q&A session, that the maze will start off  with the first movie and move into the second film. He went onto say this in regards to just how that will work:
"The maze draws from scenes from both films, with The Further being the connection between the two films. Helps go from film to film."

Continuing on, he revealed some more about what to expect inside the maze as well in regards to the "Red Faced Demon" and other aspects as well:
"I assume you speak of the RED FACED DEMON? Yeah, you're gonna run into him. I hope you enjoy his lair! "Tiptoe, through the tulips". Also inside the maze? "...those freaky twins...little special effect, actually an old school special effect but very cool. The Further will be as dark as we are allowed to make it, but we're not just painting walls black. Chris has a unique idea for that." Going on a bit more, "The seance scene? "Leave this vessel! LEAVE THIS VESSEL! Yes. We will have that scene."
Well, that's intriguing to say the least, but he wasn't done just yet! He went on to comment on some other aspects of the maze. Things like the "Further Ghosts" which are in relation to the scene in the first movie with the spirits in the fog. Additionally the maze's location within the park was confirmed as well:
"Insidious is in the Jurassic Park queue, previous home of Texas Chainsaw Massacre and Alice Cooper WTMN, Houses work there."
He also confirmed that the Insidious maze will be part of the popular password give-aways from previous years as well:
"Why yes it will. Some of you might know I tweet a "password" each night of the event. If you give the password to paranormal investigators TUCKER and SPECS from SPECTRAL SIGHTINGS, you just might get something ...unless they run out, then you won't."
Definitely curious to see just what that's all about. Anyways, here's the teaser video that came along with today's announcement!

It's also been announced that the only shared experiences between Universal Hollywood and Orlando will be the Evil Dead and The Walking Dead. The rest will be completely different!

Stay tuned as more details of the newest bit of nightmare fuel to grace Universal Hollywood are discovered!
