[Haunts] Brighton Asylum's Dark Valentine, From Death til You Part just got a lot Closer

We don't get to have all the fun this Valentine's Day out here in Pittsburgh, Passaic New Jersey's very own Brighton Asylum is planning to get the blood pumping in their own way with their Dark Valentine event.

On Friday, February 15th and Saturday, Feb 16th, they'll be throwing open their doors from 8:30pm-10:30pm to all those brave enough to enter. Tickets will run you $25 for regular admission or $35 for their R.I.P. skip the line option, but ya better hurry as this is a limited engagement and they could sell out very easily!

Time to break out the plastic sheets, because this one's gonna get messy.

What, you thought you were going on a romantic date of dinner and a movie? Think again. The folks at Brighton have turned up the dial and are ready to dish out as much as you can handle. Unlike their usual off season events, this time around they're upping the ante and only those 18+ will be allowed entry. Photo ID must be presented as well as signing a waiver to get in, no exceptions. Why? Glad you asked that...

Before your group of 4 or less enters, you'll be given the choice of accepting a glow necklace. How sweet, right? Don't be so fast, if you accept, you'll be subjected to all the horrors that lie in wait. The necklace is a signal to the crazed miscreants inside that you are now fair game. They will touch you, they will harass you a bit and see just how close to the brink of madness they can make you come. Of course, you could go without the necklace, but where's the fun in that? Smartly, though, if anything gets too intense, you can remove the necklace and you're no longer fresh meat for the other meat eaters.

This is very much like what Terror Behind the Walls at Eastern State does and from what I understand it works really well. Definitely the smart way to go as you're in control of the experience, don't like where it's headed and you can opt out very easily if you so desire.

Overall it looks like the crew behind Brighton Asylum are doing the holiday haunt the right way and while I wish we could get there to check it out first hand, I'm sure that they'll do a great job with things. The pictures and reviews I've read of their Christmas show, Santa's Slay, were all great and definitely in the spirit of things.

So, if you're looking for something different this Valentine's Day and want your special someone holding onto you for dear life as they scream the night away, then definitely head over to Brighton Asylum. Of course, you could just be twisted and need to dispose of them, I'm sure they'd be up for that too...
