[Haunts] Haunt Confirmed for Mystery Building Near Beast at Kings Island

Well, the earlier rumors about Kings Island building a new structure for an indoor haunt for this year's Halloween Haunt have been confirmed. Cincinatti.com reported earlier this week that blueprints had been uncovered detailing the project and what it was for.

The uncovering of the new plans revealed that the building is in fact for a haunt and could be for this year's event at that. What the theme will be or anything like that is really anyone's guess at this point as the park is remaining hush on that one.

What we do know is that the new, nearly 5,000sqft building, is costing the park right around $250,000, which is no small amount. However, if the building is not entirely steel and more wood like Beast's station building and queue, as some are speculating it could be, this could factor in for the extra costs for such a building.

Now, as for the name or theme of this new haunt? Again, no one really knows. However, Cedar Fair has trademarked the name "Rougarou", which is French for Werewolf. In Cajun legends it stalks the swamps and bayous, waiting for unsuspecting travels to prey upon.

It would fit nicely with Beast right there and if the building is tied in to look like part of the existing structure would be a nice touch. Just speculation there from tons of places, but it has a good shot of happening. I mean, it is the 35th Anniversary of Beast this year. Though, if that is the case, one does have to wonder what they'll do with their current Wolf Pack maze.

Wolf Pack has been around a while and the last that I saw, back in April, the maze was in utter disrepair. The whole thing looked like it either needed to be redone completely or was in the process of getting torn out. So, maybe this is a replacement and something new will go in the old Son of Beast ride building. Only time will tell, but stay tuned as I'm sure we'll word soon enough from the park!
