[HOS2014] More Howl-O-Scream 2014 Details From Busch Gardens Tampa

Well, it's been a little while since we've heard from the folks down at Busch Gardens Tampa, but a few more things have surfaced about this year's Howl-O-Scream.

Still no official word on the final maze announcement, but we do have a few ideas as to just what that could be. A couple of days ago the awesome folks over at BGTfans.com snagged a picture which seems to spill the beans on the last house to be announced...but more on that in a minute. Let's get through the confirmed stuff first, shall we?

One of the additions for this year is the all new Cursed entry point scare-zone/experience...thing. Much like The 13 from last year's event, this will be the first thing that guests have to navigate through and will feature all manner of demented cursed demons and victims. Gotta say that I love the idea and it really drives home the whole feeling, just as The 13 did in 2013, hopefully they go nuts with the gift shop again too!

Now, the reason that I'm hard pressed to describe the entry area as a scare-zone for Howl-O-Scream this year is because, well, there aren't any. Nope, not a single one. Yeah, just as surprised about that one as well, but kinda happy about it since last year's were definitely lacking across the board. Why? Glad you asked.

This year's event will feature what Busch Gardens is calling "Slash Mobs". Instead of just stationary areas where you can see and know exactly what's coming for the most part, they're upping the ante. They'll be letting their mobs of psychopaths run free and wild to congregate randomly to attack the unsuspecting. So no, there won't be dancing...well maybe if they're covered in blood. They can do that, right? Please tell me they can do that.

Personally, I love this idea and it should bring an air of anxiety to the whole park if it's done right. That's a big if, but I'm really hoping they can pull this one of, it could definitely be a game changer for how large theme parks handle the scare-zone concept.

So, there's what we know for sure is coming along with everything else that they've announced for this year. As you can see, the coming soon image really doesn't give us a lot to go on. It kind of looks like what could be blurry caution tape and well, a whole lot of blood. Not really much.

However, it seems as if the BGTfans folks have uncovered just what it'll be.

Now, I'm not sure just what exactly ZCU 15 will be all about, signs point to it standing for Zombie Containment Unit 15 but they already have a zombie themed maze with Zombie Mortuary, at least in the title.
