No pun intended, but this new is completely shocking. House of Shock has announced that after the 2014 season, their 22nd year, they'll be closing down forever. The "bad boys" of Haunted Attractions have finally decided to call it quits and while no official word has been given, it's definitely a sad day to see such a loved (or despised) haunt go by the wayside.
They've been the front of controversy, survived hits from hurricanes and still kept on trucking. I never got the chance to visit and I doubt that making it down there this is even remotely possible. Though, here's to hoping something that's at least half as good takes it place down the road.

We have designed our event with plenty of areas to just hang out and watch the freaks. Come down and get a dose of liquid courage from our full-service bar or something to eat from the ORIGINAL Hell's Kitchen. Watch bands on the House of Shock music stage and our Grand Finale State Show complete with live actors, stunts and pyrotechnics!
The best part about the House of Shock Outdoor Halloween Festival is it is all included with your admission to the haunted house.
This is the very last year to experience an institution that influenced an industry. There is nothing else like in the world and 2014 is the very end. We dare you to attend a once in a lifetime experience.
