[Haunts] Dorney Park to Add New Haunt Building for 2015's Halloween Haunt

Well, it looks like the folks at Dorney Park are getting things together for 2015's Halloween Haunt. The other day, the Morning Call reported on a building permit that was filed by Dorney Park recently.

The plans, calling for a 3200sqft building, aren't much to write home about but the fact that these included a queue line and pathway to lead to it was cause for a little more interest than normal.

Of course, that's too small for an attraction, a store or something perhaps but stores don't need queue lines. At least not any that I've been to. No, it's been confirmed via Twitter that this will in fact be for a haunted attraction during Halloween Haunt, and used for storage the rest of the year. It's interesting that this is happening at Dorney Park, as something very similar was built last year at another Cedar Fair park, Kings Island.

So, you may be asking yourself just where this new building is going. Well, according to the plans, this will be going in just north of the overflow parking lot. It's of interest for Halloween Haunt fans, since that is really close to where The Asylum was located last year. You can see on the map just where a couple of possible places this could be going in.

The red area is far more likely in my eyes and I don't really see them going out into the orange area, but one never knows, right?

Now, I'm not sure why a service track would be necessary at all as it's listed in the plans, assuming they're talking about a service road that is. There already seems to be one that runs through the red area as it stands. Though, this could simply be because they'll have to move it.

Of course, all kinds of things run through one's mind when thinking of things like this. Last  year they had a ton of interesting offerings with the Skeleton Key rooms and everything else happening. Could this be something more tailored for that? Possibly, could also just be another dedicated building for them to have some fun in as well.

Only time will tell and you can be sure, least year's event found them winning our Best Theme Park Haunt Award, so hoping that this only adds to the chaos. You can be sure that I'll be keeping a very close eye on this one as the year progresses and we find out just what's going in for this year's Halloween Haunt at Dorney Park!
