Didn't have to wait long for this one, the next announcement out of both Universal Studios Hollywood and Universal Orland for this year's Halloween Horror Nights is the return of The Purge! Yep, that's right, everyone's favorite night of mayhem is back and both parks are offering up brand new experiences for this year's annual Purge.

In Hollywood The Purge will take over the Terror Tram experience and in Orlando you'll have to face the madness in an all new maze for 2015. Both are insane takes on the idea, but I'll more of my own thoughts a bit later on. For now, let's get to the details that were given out earlier today by HHN Creative Directors, John Murdy and Mike Aiello.

First stop, Hollywood.

This year's Terror Tram is going to be an intense one as those brave enough will have to get through the gauntlet of Purge Night in one piece. Not only that, but it appears that The Purge will also becoming to the Universal Back Lot as well, something about a party? Hmm, interesting. Before we get to that, here's the announcement trailer for The Purge.

Well now, that's gonna get interesting...and quickly. We don't have many other details on this one outside of the trailer but maybe later we'll get a few more tidbits on just what to expect from the Terror Tram experience.

So, that leaves us with another matter. What is all this hubbub about the Back Lot Party? Well, that's a bit harder to decipher. However, thanks to a rather long series of tweets from our new founding fathers, I think I've gotten the rundown. Let's take a look at what they had to say.

"Since the inception of The Purge, patriotic citizens have taking to the streets to purge the country of it's less desirable elements. During this twelve hour window of time, all crime is legal and police, fire and emergency medical services are unavailable. Recognizing that not all citizens choose to hunt during The Purge, your New Found Fathers have created "The Purge Party". The Purge Party is a safe alternative for families and those not inclined to hunt to celebrate our proud national tradition"
Uh huh, sure. Safe...during Purge Night? Yeah...okay, I'll believe that one when I see it. Something tells me this isn't going to be all sunshine and rainbows here. But, not a lot of info from that one. Maybe the next bit has something to dig into.
"The Purge Party festivities include a host of fun activities for the kids, like the role playing game "Hunter Huntee". We also have special arts and crafts stations and patriotic sing-a-longs every hour on the hour". Of course, a party wouldn't be complete without food! We have several gourmet buffets with vegetarian, vegan and glutton free options" and be sure to visit the desert bar and sample one of Chef Paul's award-winning Purge cupcakes!" While the kids are having fun, Mom and Dad can relax in comfort in the Purge Party lounge where you can chill out to live jazz and watch the nights dramatic events unfold on multiple, video feeds with all the action taking place out on the streets of America."

Okay, now I'm just a bit confused. What exactly is Murdy up to out there? This sounds like it could be a couple of things. A neutral space that is a little more relaxed and Purge themed where you can watch the goings on of HHN as a whole, or maybe just the Terror Tram perhaps? Can't be that simple, he's too much of a madman for that. So, that leaves me with the thought that something utterly horrific is going to happen at random to some very unsuspecting party goers during the night.

However, according to Murdy via Twitter, don't trust them, the cupcakes might be a lie. Yeah, I'm going with option number two there. He's a carny after all. Then again, maybe he's actually telling the truth...now, that, would be crazy.

And now to see what the folks down at Universal Studios Orlando are up to.

Again, not much meat on the bone for this one, but it's sounding like they could be taking scenes from The Purge and Pure: Anarchy and kind of blending them together. Since we don't have a third Purge film already out, that's the only thing I can think of. I'm leaning more towards that, thanks to HHN Orlando Creative Director, Mike Aiello's comment on Twitter about the maze;
"The Purge is back as a haunted house! From purger invaded residential environments to the hunting arena and even some NFFA rebel activity. Taking you out of the expansive street and into a confined environment surrounded by characters from the successful Purge franchise."
Yep, definitely going to be a little mash up of things there. The maze will start off with the traditional siren and there will be all kinds of Purge footage being shown via the CCTV systems. Definitely going to be interesting to see how this is treated in an confined space, no doubt that's a serious challenge to undertake, but I think it can work.

It also seems like Aiello and the crew are getting in on the SnapChat fun as well. No clue what they're up to with that on this one just yet, but today/tonight seems like there's going to be a little bit of Purge fun going on in that neck of the woods. So, if you're up for it, check that out as well, might learn a few more things!

And there ya have it, everything that's known, along with some speculation, about what The Purge will be like at both Halloween Horror Nights events at Universal Studios Hollywood and Universal Orlando. Stay tuned, as there's still a lot more to come and you can be sure that the Kverse team will be doing everything to get all the info we can for ya.
