[Haunts] Michael Myers is Coming Home for Halloween Horror Nights at Universal Studios Hollywood

This past weekend, Universal Studios Hollywood was on hand at the annual Scare LA convention and they had a little something to share with all of us. Michael Myers will be coming home for 2015's Halloween Horror Nights with the Halloween: Michael Myers Comes Home maze. This one isn't that surprising at all, not when you consider how well done and received this was at HHN 24 in Orlando last year. It's not uncommon for mazes that are a huge hit at one park to be featured in the other afterwards.

Anyway, let's get down to the nuts and bolts of the announcement and just what folks will get to face in the twisted chaos that only comes from Michael Myers. From the sounds of it, Halloween Horror Nights Executive Producer, John Murdy, is a bit excited for this one.
Halloween is the ultimate classic slasher film that spawned an entire horror film genre. Bringing John Carpenter’s disturbing, cutting-edge vision to life as part of ‘Halloween Horror Nights’ is the ideal complement to our maze lineup as we continue to break creative ground with outstanding horror icons that raise the intensity level of our experience.”
So, just what can you expect from this one? Well, thanks to the folks at Universal we've got a few glimpses into just what will be waiting in the dark of the Myers home and the rest of Haddonfield as well, all while adorned in classic Halloween décor on a similar Halloween night in 1963. Once at Meyer’s abandoned family home, its blood-splattered walls await, where the violent murder took place, will set the stage for a new crime scene as you attempt to evade the relentless Myers.

A little flashback of events that happened, a little bit of the town, and what's going down currently all add up to an interesting take on things. Universal typically does this kind of maze really well, and again, it was by all accounts extremely well received in Orlando. Definitely looks like a worthy addition to the line up that we know of so far.

Malek Akkad, President of Trancas International Films and Compass International Pictures had this to say about the maze; “We are extremely excited to team up with Universal Studios Hollywood’s fantastic event, ‘Halloween Horror Nights. The attention to detail that the creative team gives to the Halloween maze creates a realistic and terrifying experience for guests that is truly authentic to the film. This year’s maze will be the best yet.”

Time will tell on that last bit, but I'm sure it'll be a hit with die hard fans of the franchise as well as those who aren't. It's hard to go wrong with the classics, right?

With only a little more than a month to go until Halloween Horror Nights kicks off at Universal Studios Hollywood, there's still a ton of announcements coming. Right now we only know of three mazes for 2015 so expect a lot more news in the next few weeks.
