Well, we didn't have to wait long to find out what the featured house would be this year at Howl-O-Scream and it definitely ties into the whole Unearthed story that they've been playing with for quite a while too. This one is looking to be quite the interesting one, even more so since they've teamed up with Blair Witch Producer, Robin Cowie, to help develop the house. Makes you wonder if they've been working together on the Unearthed story together from the start.

Here's the official word on the the house, along with the announcement trailer!

During maintenance at the park, an excavation crew uncovered a centuries old house buried deep beneath the ground. Upon opening its door, a sinister force is unearthed—Scarlett—a furious demon who wields a deadly deck of magical cards summoning creatures of Howl-O-Scream past. Journey below to experience the splintered labyrinth of horrors and the revengeful wrath of this demon scorned.
So, just what can we expect from this all new experience? Well, thanks to the folks behind Howl-O-Scream, we've got the rundown and more.
With the help of Crowie and his team, they've managed to craft the dark tale of Scarlett, a village healer who turned to dark magic to avenge her husband’s killers. As her powers grew, she was hunted, trapped and buried alive deep beneath the park…but has now been Unearthed to summon terror on unsuspecting guests. Intriguing, eh?

“I jumped at the chance to work on this project,” said Robin Cowie, producer of The Blair Witch Project, who began talking with the parks last summer. “As filmmakers, we rely on emotional and psychological elements to get audiences out of their seats. With Howl-O-Scream, we’re dealing with a crazy convergence of 360-degree storytelling, merging physical experiences and technologies to create a sort of hyper-virtual reality.  It’s live, immersive terror and it can take your breath away.”

Should be interesting to see what they come up with with this kind of talent behind a maze too.

The maze itself will have folks venturing into the mysterious, centuries-old house that's filled with secrets, and terror awaits all who dare to enter as Scarlett summons the demons from beyond and collects body parts to reincarnate her dead husband. Always so troublesome, dead spouses, I tell ya.

Either way, this one is gonna be interesting to see how fans in...wait, I haven't said where this one is going yet. Well, that's simple. Unearthed: Scarlett's Revenge will be the feature maze at not only Busch Gardens Tampa, but also Busch Gardens Williamsburg and Sea World San Antonio! No one's getting left out of this one.

That said, Scarlett should fit in well with the Voodoo Queen at Busch Gardens Tampa too. No doubt those two are gonna have some fun together out there in the park. Up North, Busch Gardens Williamsburg still has a couple of houses yet to be announced, but this does confirm the early rumors that this maze would be coming. Now, if they've tied the two unknowns into Scarlett at all, should actually be a pretty awesome way of doing things.

And there ya have it, all the latest news from Howl-O-Scream today. Stay tuned for more in depth coverage of haunted attractions all over the US as haunt season is approaching quickly. Feel free to follow with us on Twitter, Google+, Tumblr, and even Facebook if you must, for all the rest!
