[Haunts] Circo Sinistro and Sideshow Square Announced for Howl-O-Scream 2016 at Busch Gardens Williamsburg

Busch Gardens Williamsburg has announced not only a new maze for Howl-O-Scream 2016, but also a new scare zone that pairs up with it. Looks like the circus is coming to town, but this is definitely one not to bring the kiddies to. Well, unless you like them diced up or used to entertain the masses. Then, in that case, certainly bring them with along.

Of course, the addition of both of these new attractions means that two are getting the axe. Unlike last year, it's not just a simple addition to the mix, but the total number of mazes and scare zones will stay at seven and five, just like last year. Never a bad thing!

Now then, let's get to the new stuff!

First up, the new maze. Circo Sinistro.

"No one knows when or where the tents will rise, but all who see them are drawn to find out what lies inside Circo Sinistro at Busch Gardens® Williamsburg’s Howl-O-Scream®. The park’s new haunted house is not of this world and not of this time – but beware, what you see, you soon will be."

This marks the 4th new maze in the past two years for Howl-O-Scream in the past two years.

This will be going into the location formerly occupied by Cut Throat Cove. It's kind of sad to see that one go as it had potential, but the Festa section of the park really lends itself to the circus/carnival theme pretty well and it's hard to argue that...as much I'd like to.

But, that's not all, you can help vote in the scares that you'll experience within the confines of the big top. The choices; a circle of fire, walk the high wire or something completely different? Yep, that's right, they're open for suggestions on this one. So, if you're interested...head on over and submit whatever deliciously devious idea lurks inside your brain.

So, with Cut Throat Cove going by the wayside, that means the Port of Skull scare zone is also getting the cut here. Doesn't make sense to keep that around, in it's place? An all new sideshow themed area.

What's it called? Well, aptly, Sideshow Square.

"Your jaw will drop on your way to the big top. What was once only in your imagination is now a frightening reality full of haunts, curiosities and plenty of scare to make you shriek. So step right up to the new Sideshow Square™ terror-tory™ at Busch Gardens® Williamsburg’s
Howl-O-Scream®."

One has to wonder if they'll include the interactive bits that Port of Skull had before. Would be interesting if they did as there's a lot to play with in regards to the theme. Either way, definitely going to be curious to see just how they go about it, the pirates theme was a bit kid friendly and this sounds like it could have promise to shake things up a bit.

Overall, this is a return to the clowns and circus theme that used to inhabit the area, but hopefully they're going to continue with the trend they started last year with the addition of Unearthed, Cornered, and Lumberhack.

And that about wraps that up for now. I'm sure more details about this year's event will be coming soon and while a lot isn't changing, that doesn't mean a few things won't. As usual, I'll be keeping an eye out for any news and rumors, so stay tuned and follow along with us on on Twitter, Google+, Tumblr, and even Facebook if you must, for all the latest!
