[Haunts] Knott's Scary Farm Announces the Return of Three Scare Zones for 2016

Earlier today, the folks behind Knott's Scary Farm announced that three scare zones will be returning for the 2016 season. This is the first of what will likely be many from the park, so it's a bit understandable that it's nothing all that new, but these are definitely fan favorites.

A couple I'm not so hot on, but it's hard to argue with the popularity of them and that makes it hard to fault the team for bringing them back for another go here. I'm sure whatever is new for 2016 will definitely make up for it.

So, just what is coming back? Let's have a look!

First up, Ghost Town Streets.

The original and still most terrifying scare zone that started it all. Bands of half-human, half-animal monsters prowl the streets and inhabit the fog. Beware the notoriously startling sliders, who lunge from in every fog-filled corner of the land.

I really can't imagine the event without this one to be honest. I think the biggest, and likely scariest thing Knott's could ever do would be to get rid of it. Yeah, let's not think of that happening.

Next, the return of CarnEVIL.

Yep, the clowns are back and they're set to take over The Boardwalk section of the park once again for 2016!

Can you survive the freak show run amuck through the park?

Another no brainer here as it's a staple across all Halloween events at Cedar Fair parks. People just don't get tired of it apparently. I have my issues with clowns and haunts, but that's due to over exposure mostly.

Lastly, a surprise return with Fiesta de los Muertos.

Fiesta De Los Muertos fuses dance music, colorful costumes, and larger than life stilt walkers in a dance party scare zone with even more characters than last year. It’s the ultimate late night celebration of Dia de los Muertos.

Why a surprise? As popular as these more party than scare zones, are they seem to change up fairly often but I guess if you've got one that's working well...stick with it? I'm not sure really on this, but it seems that folks like it enough to keep it returning for now.

And that's it for today's announcement out of Knott's Scary Farm! There's bound to be a ton more revealed over the next coming months, so stay tuned for all the latest and just what we think of it!
