[HHN23] Halloween Horror Nights Orlando Mega Post

So, this past week has been completely insane with all of the #HHNRevealWeek announcements. Top that off with everything that's come before and the stuff out of all the other parks and you've got a recipe for some pretty hectic times around here. So, with that in mind, here's everything that we know so far in one handy place in case you missed something along the way.

(Not that you would, I mean you've been following along every day, right? I know you have, but for those who have real jobs and the like...I know some people have those too, yes?)

I've gone and put these in order of their announcement since that's just a bit easier for everyone in the long run (okay so just me, but hey...I'm the one writing this after all).

Let's get this party started...

HHN Creative Director, Mike Aiello, describes the flow of the experience as a "chronological retelling of the film from beginning to relative end - minus the gods destroying the Earth."

Yes, all your favorite insane monsters and torturous moments from the film are coming to life. Will there be a merman? What about the unicorn and everyone's favorite zombie redneck torture family? Read on to find out more about what's coming!

In a bit of a surprise move, Universal has announced that they will be bringing the Evil Dead to life as only they can. Interestingly enough, it will be coming to not only Universal Orlando, but also Universal Hollywood for their annual haunt spectacular, Halloween Horror Nights. This is the first house to be announced for Universal Hollywood as the previous announcement for Cabin in the Woods was an exclusive for their Orlando property this year.

This year they've listened to guests and brought back The Walking Dead for another go around and while I typically would say that doing the same thing two years in a row is dangerous and lazy, it seems they're taking things to a whole new level. How you ask? Good question...To celebrate Season 4 of the show, they're going back to Season 3 and recreating Woodbury. Yes, you heard that right...the West Georgia Correctional Facility is going to be brought to life. Read on to find out all the details!
For the scare-zones, got ya covered right here...

Time to kick off what's become known as #HHNRevealWeek...

After two extremely successful years at Halloween Horror Nights at Universal Hollywood, La Llorona is making it's way to the East Coast for this year's HHN at Universal Orlando. Be prepared to hear the screams of "Ay, mis hijos!" echoing through the park.

So, with that...let's welcome the "Weeping Woman" to the East Coast! Read on...

It's interesting that they've decided to go with an interesting take on the 3-D house with this one. They're always tricky beasts to deal with...just be happy it's not clowns, eh? Either way, I surely didn't see this one coming at all! Very refreshing to see a new take on it, last year they did it with the Penn&Teller maze and this just shows they're not afraid to take it to an entirely different place. Again, thank the gods it's not something as trite as clowns!

So, without further ado, let's meet the newest original nightmare fuel creation from Mike Aiello and company. Read on for the shocking details...
#HHNRevealWeek for Halloween Horror Nights at Universal Orlando continues with it's third announcement; hot off the heels of last nights all new maze, Afterlife: Death's Vengeance and Monday's of La Lorona.

HAVOC: Derailed is another all original maze that's getting an update. So, if ya it missed the adrenaline filled chaos the first time around, here's your chance to experience all the mayhem...kicked up a few notches!
Read on for all the adrenaline filled mayhem...

To wind up #HHNRevealWeek, Universal Orlando has come out with all their guns blazing. It's been a crazy week full of announcements and not only from Orlando, Hollywood got in the mix two and revealed two new scare zones last night.

However, the real show this week has been down in Florida and this next one is definitely the way to wrap things up.

You’ll fear the beast as you face the bloody chaos of werewolf attacks in this horrifying house. Read on for more info!

We can put this one to rest finally. The 8th and final house for this year's event is...

Resident Evil! Thanks to the slew of leaks and other clues this one definitely wasn't that big of a shock but it's still huge news!

The maze itself will be based on the 2nd and 3rd games and feature a facade found in the first stage of Resident Evil 2 as well!

Read on for more info and video on this one!

Looks like the 8th house has been unwittingly revealed by someone at Publix. Wanna know what it is? Resident Evil! Check it out for yourself here!

Gotta say, that's one insane line up and with the perennial favorite, Bill & Ted's show, to keep things on edge...it's looking like a great year for Universal Orlando. Now I wonder if Sharknado will make it into the annual raunchy romp through pop culture. I mean, it has to be in there, right?

Top that off with the addition of Rocky Horror Picture Show and there really is just something for everyone during this year's event.

Some people may bitch and moan that there's not enough original houses here and there's too much based on movies and TV shows (myself included at times) but this really does look like a top notch year for the event. I know that I'm looking forward to seeing it again. It's been a very two years since our last visit and I can't wait to see how they flesh all this out for this year.

Halloween Horror Nights at Universal Orlando will run on select nights from September 20th thru November 2nd this year and runs from 6:30pm-Midnight on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Sundays and 6:30pm-2am on Fridays and Saturdays. Tickets run anywhere from $91.99 for a single night or $42.99-$69.99 (depending on night) for Florida Residents.

In addition to this, those who have regular tickets for days that HHN is running can upgrade them to include the event for between $39.99 and $69.99 (depending on the night). It's no surprise that Friday and Saturday nights are the most expensive for these, but that's the way the blood drips.

Coincidentally, those nights add up to a full 23 terror filled days of operation. Gotta wonder if next year will have 24...

I should also point out there is the option for the Horror Night Express upgrades as well. These let you skip the lines and run anywhere from $49.99 to $99.99 a person on top of admission to the event. Price here is very much dependent on what day and how early or late in the run you're planning to attend.

What about those slick VIP tours that are available at the Hollywood event? Well, Universal Orlando has ya covered there too with their RIP and Behind the Screams tours. These range in price from $59.99 for the Unmasking the Horrors tours (morning and afternoon) or $99.99 for both! There's also the Arcane Insights tour that goes for $239 a person:
You and your party, along with other Arcane Insights Tour guests, will be combined together to take part in a structured, guided walking tour of one Halloween Horror Nights event night. In addition to your RIP Guide, the group will also be accompanied by a member of Universal Orlando’s Art & Design Team. As the RIP Guide leads the group through the event, the Art & Design Team member will provide the group with a unique look into the design and development of this year’s event. During the tour you will experience all of our haunted houses, visit a house’s makeup and/or wardrobe area and get to take part in a seated Q&A with the member of the Art && Design Team.

That's pretty slick right there and comes with some free valet parking and other perks as well. What about the really insanely expensive ones? Well...the RIP Public and Private tours are truly mental and for the private tour, look to shell about $1250 to start with for groups up to 10 people. What do you get? Well, glad you asked:
You and your party of up to 10 guests will take part in a guided walking tour of a single Halloween Horror Nights event night. As the party consists of just your guests, the choice is yours as to how to spend your evening. Your RIP Guide can tailor the tour to the interests of your party to include not only the haunted houses and shows, but all available regular park attractions as well.
Private RIP Tours depart nightly at 7:00PM and last until park closing, with a 30 minute break mid-way through.

Yeah, that's pretty expensive, but the perks are definitely there for it. Don't want to spend that much? Well there's the public option us broke folks too, only running $109.99 per person...
You and your party, along with other RIP Tour guests, will be combined together and take part in a structured, guided walking tour of one Halloween Horror Nights event night. During the Non-Private RIP Tour you will experience all of our haunted houses (one time each), 2 regular park attractions and have reserved seating for Bill & Ted’s Excellent Halloween Adventure. Non-Private RIP Tours depart nightly at 8:00PM and last up to 4 hours with combined groups consisting of no more than 12 guests* per RIP Guide.

Still not a bad deal if you ask me and comes with quite a few perks. Not to mention it's only a bit more than the express passes anyways, might be something to think about!

On top of all this there's the Gorey Get Away Package as well:

Halloween Horror Nights Offers
Gory Getaway
~ Vacation package starts at $299 per adult,
tax inclusive
·         3-night accommodations at a Universal Partner Hotel
·         2-day base ticket for admission to both Universal Orlando theme parks

·         Upgrade to one of three AAA Four Diamond Award® deluxe on-site hotels at Universal Orlando to stay in the heart of the horror and start screaming sooner with special access to a dedicated Halloween Horror Nights entry gate each event night until 8 p.m.

That's pretty much everything I could get my paws on for this year's event. I'm sure I missed a few things and that's what the official website is for, but at least now you have an idea and maybe a game plan for this year's Halloween Horror Nights!

You'll be able to catch Carrie and myself on Thursday, Sept 26th as we make our way through this year's Halloween Horror Nights. We'll be live tweeting and posting to to Google+ as we experience the insanity first hand.
